Obituary

Edwin E. Loofboro, age 78, of Pensacola, FL passed away June 17, 2009 at Covenant Hospice in Pensacola, FL. Edwin was born on January 21, 1931 in Baraboo, WI, son of Paul and Lela (Pinter) Loofboro. He was raised in Reedsburg until he moved to Wis Dells in 1945 where his father Paul Loofboro, was Superintendent of Wis Dells High School. He graduated from Wis Dells High School in 1949 having earned five letters in numerous sports, mainly football where he was known as "The Mighty Mite" and voted most popular and most handsome. He attended Milton College in Milton, WI. He served for 8 years in the United States Army and took part in the Nevada bomb tests. He also was a river pilot, business owner and a Volunteer Fireman.

He moved to Fort Myers Beach, FL in 1969 where he was active in the American Legion and the VFW. He moved to Pensacola, FL in 2008.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Wayne Loofboro, his first wife and mother of his children, Rita Kerrigan Harvey, and second wife, Gertrude Clark. He is survived by his partner of 15 years, Lori Decker-Evans of pensacola, FL, his children, Linda Kerrigan Micke (Bernie), Steven Loofboro, Larry Loofboro and Bill Loofboro, and 6 grandchildren; Logan Irons, Haven Campbell-Loofboro, Ian Loofboro, Ethan Loofboro, Keenan Loofboro, and Bronte Loofboro.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 8383 N. Dixie Hwy. 3 North, Pensacola, FL 32514. Online condolences may be sent to: www.dignitymemorial.com

National Cremation and Burial Society of Milton, FL has been entrusted with the arrangements.
