Estelle Koblitz Obituary

March 3, 1928 - July 19, 2024 Estelle T Koblitz (née Turetsky) passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024, in Santa Monica, California, at age 96 after a long battle with dementia. She was born on March 03, 1928, to Kalman Turetsky and Malka "Mollie" (née Rosenfeld) Turetsky in New York City, and raised in Brooklyn, New York.

Estelle graduated from James Madison High School and in 1948 came to Los Angeles, where she met and married her beloved husband of 62 years, Edward L. Koblitz. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A staunch supporter of Jewish causes, Estelle's other passions included cooking, attending concerts, operas and the theater, mahjong/bridge, volunteering, travel and being with family. She also appreciated fine art and was an avid reader.

She is survived by daughters, Karen Koblitz (Alan Friedenberg) and Laura Schuchat; granddaughters, Gina Koblitz-Friedenberg, Nora Schuchat (Noah Weiss), Rose Schuchat (Seth Wanta); and great-grandchildren, Frankie, Iris, Drew and Remy. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Gertrude, Elaine and Frances.
