Eunice Bozant Obituary

Eunice Dee Bozant, of Temecula, California, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 9, 2021, at the age of 80. Eunice was born in 1941 to Velmalee Jackson and Linton Bozant in Los Angeles, California. She and her twin sister, Janice, were the eldest of nine children.  A Bohemian at heart, Eunice first worked as a carnival sharp-shooter, where she met her first husband, Nicholas Pelak, with whom she had a daughter, Ann Michelle. With her second husband, Jerry Polier-Daffin, Eunice also had two sons, Laron and Victor. As a hard-working dedicated single mother of three beautiful children, Eunice still managed to obtain her GED, then took one college class per semester for over a decade, graduating from Cal State Fullerton. Eunice's dream of becoming a teacher was realized at the age of 59 when she began teaching at Juniper Elementary School in Fontana, CA, where she was a beloved faculty member for 15 years. Eunice firmly believed that if you were determined to excel, no matter your age, you could succeed. Eunice was a woman of strong faith and an advocate for women's rights; she was an accomplished painter, and enjoyed knitting and crocheting blankets for her large family. She was a movie and theater-goer and she traveled the world--her last trip was to Italy for the wedding of one of her granddaughters in 2019. Eunice was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother Merle, and her adopted brother John. She is survived by her siblings: twin sister Janice (Ray) and Linda (Gene), both of Lake Havasu, AZ; Jennifer (Alex) of Alberta, Canada; Patsy (Terry) of Clinton, UT; Linton (Collette) of St. George, UT; Trudi (Steve) of Dallas, TX; and Beverly (Willis) of Corona, CA. She is also survived by her three children, Michelle (Ed) of El Segundo, CA; Laron (Debbie) of Temecula, CA; and Victor of Eugene, OR; granddaughters, Nichelle and Nicsa (Luke), both of Murrieta, CA; Coco of El Segundo, CA; Micki, (Nicolas) of Arroyo Grande, CA; Taylor of Corona, CA; and Brittany (Josiah) of Menifee, CA; and four great-grandchildren, with a fifth on the way (Micki and Nicolas). Funeral services will be held at Forest Lawn, 21300 Via Verde Drive, Covina Hills, California. Open viewing will take place on July 19 in the Magnolia Room at the Tribute Center at Forest Lawn Covina Hills from 12:00-4:00 p.m. The funeral ceremony, followed by graveside service, will take place on July 20 at the Church of Our Heritage at Forest Lawn Covina Hills at 2:15 p.m. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Sisters of the Holy Family of New Orleans, LA www.sistersoftheholyfamily.com

We enjoyed her friendship and fellowship in Christ, thus this death is only temporary... we'll see her resurrected to life eternal when The Lord Christ Jesus returns for his people! Till then, she will be missed. :)
