Florence Sutton Obituary

Sutton, Florence Good
She was married as Florence Good to Clarence Sutton on December 5, 1943 in Los Angeles and has two surviving children, Ron, born in 1947, and Carol, born in 1948. She began teaching in 1939 and continued until her retirement on July 1, 1986, except for six years from 1945 until 1951 to start a family after Clarence returned from WWII. Mom taught Elementary School for 41 and « years. Three years at Tierra Bonita, Lancaster, one year at Mojave, one year at Hawthorne, and 36 plus years with the L.A. City Schools including ten years at O'Melveny Elementary and 23 years at Gridley Street Elementary School in San Fernando, California. She was born second of four children to Charles Warner Good and Hilda Louise Anderson on June 28, 1915 in Los Angeles, California. She grew up in Saugus, California and graduated from San Fernando High School and UCLA with a teaching degree. She died on March 21, 2002 in Longmont, Colorado, after a six year battle with a series of strokes. She will be buried after services at Eternal Valley Memorial Park between her husband and her mother on Wednesday, March 27, 2002 at 10:00 AM. Her friends and family are asked to attend the service and reception.
