Gemma A. RICCIUTI

RICCIUTI, Gemma Assunta passed away at home in Victoria, BC, on September 4, 2025, at the age of 92. Born in Chieti, Italy, Gemma immigrated to Canada in 1961, first settling in Guelph, Ontario, before making Victoria her home in 1973. She worked in food services at the University of Victoria from 1973 until her retirement in 1998. Gemma will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Patrizia (John) Markwart; her sons Davide (Janet) Ricciuti and Enzo Ricciuti; her grandchildren Angela Meier, Aaron Markwart, and Dominic Ricciuti; and her great-grandchildren Luke and Rose Meier, and Liset Markwart to who she affectionately referred to herself as "Nonna 2". She is also survived by extended family and friends in both Canada and Italy including her sisters Elvira Del Rosario and Rosetta Cirotti. In keeping with her wishes, Gemma has been cremated. A gathering to celebrate her life will be held in Victoria, BC at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to First Memorial Funeral Services, Victoria, BC.
