Geoff Greenfield

February 17, 1947 - July 30, 2022 Dr. Geoff Greenfield passed away in Jerusalem on July 30 after a heroic struggle with lymphoma. He was a beloved and compassionate pediatrician to over three generations of families. He had an insatiable sense of wonder and fascination with the workings of the universe, studying quantum physics in his scarce spare time. Geoff was also a fabulous pianist and flutist, playing many concerts with his Har Nof Chamber Music Society, which sponsored numerous newly-arrived emigrant musicians. The outdoors was his playground, biking to work for 40 years, backpacking in the Sierras, hiking in Death Valley, and even trekking in Nepal. Erudite and well-read, he had a ten-year Facetime bookclub with his sister, which was half scholarly and half exuberant hilarity.
Geoff was an extraordinary person, filled with a generosity of spirit, optimism, deep appreciation of Judaism, exemplary loving father, husband, and brother. He overflowed with goodness and kindness, understood the transcendence of music, and enjoyed the exquisite companionship of his friends.
He leaves his sister Sylvia Greenfield (Roger Greenberg), his wife writer Tzvia Greenfield, daughters Shulamit, Razi (Arnon Levy), Nechami (Ofir Rosenblat-Ca'anaan), and sons Yehuda Greenfield-Gilat (Shlomit), Shivi (Maya), and twelve grandchildren.
