George Arragg, Jr. Obituary

June 12, 1932 - December 7, 2025 On December 7, 2025, George Mickel Arragg, Jr., at the age of 93, beloved brother, uncle, and great-uncle, passed away after a brief illness. George was born on June 12, 1932, to Lebanese immigrants George and Kafa Arragg in Lawrence, Massachusetts. The fourth of five children, he is survived by his sister, Yvonne Mallen, sister-in-law Ann Arragg, along with 15 nieces and nephews, 19 great-nieces and nephews, and 18 great-great-nieces and nephews.

Although George never married, family was the focus of his life, as he devoted himself to his siblings and their children. After graduating from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in 1955, he moved to Montebello, California, where job opportunities for pharmacists were especially appealing. While living in California, he enjoyed spending time with his older sister Lillian, her husband Clair, and their four boys, capturing countless photos of "life." In 1961, George and Lillian were joined by their baby brother, Ron, also a pharmacist, his wife, Ann, and later their 3 children.

George worked at Thrifty Drug Store and Crawfords in Montebello for 55 years. He enjoyed conversations with those he crossed paths with, commonly through discussions on current events, government, real estate and the market.

Over time, he was affectionately known as "the uncle with the camera" and "the family historian." George also had a passion for tape recorders and recorded the voices of his family members, mostly of his young nieces and nephews. He also took family pictures on every holiday, birthday, and vacation. George will forever be remembered for his love and dedication to family, always putting them first. For years after his beloved mother's passing in 1989, he would share many stories and memories of their time together. George was a sensitive and loving man.

A memorial service will be held on January 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Ivy Lawn Cemetery located at 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura, CA 93003.
