Georgette Arranaga Obituary

September 19, 1928 - January 29, 2018 Georgette Louise Haddad was born in Detroit, MI and lived there until the family moved to Maywood and later Bell, CA where her father owned and operated a liquor store. In the fall of 1946, at 18 years old, she met the love of her life, Leo Arranaga, in a Latin class at Occidental College. They married in August 1950 and were not apart thereafter until Leo's passing in 2012. It broke her heart. Georgette earned her teaching credential from Occidental College and taught for a few years until having children. She resumed her teaching in 1969 with the Santa Ana Unified School District, working until she was eligible to retire. She and Leo were grateful for the many opportunities to travel during their retirement and enjoyed the rewarding years they spent together as volunteers at Hoag Hospital, Newport Beach. They started their family in Sun Valley and Glendale, CA until moving to Newport Beach in 1965 and for the remainder of their years. She leaves behind her children, Michele, Jeanine, Chris, and Kristi, their spouses, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren who love her, miss her, and find peace knowing she is with Dad once again.
