Gerald S. Puchlik

1950 - 2023

September 3, 1950 - September 6, 2023 Gerald Stanley (Stanislaw) Puchlik has passed away at his home (age 73). He was raised in the Silver Lake area of Los Angeles and received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona in 1975. Gerry met and married his beloved wife of over 50 years, Janet Lynn Liljegren, in 1973, and their son, Karl, was born 8 years later. After buying their first home in Hollywood, CA, they later moved to Granada Hills, CA where they resided for over 41 years.
Gerry worked as an Architect for over 40 years, being licensed in California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Washington and Texas. He established his own architectural firm, Puchlik Design Associates (PDA) in Pasadena, CA, which specialized in hospitals, skilled nursing, retirement facilities and churches among others. His design expertise was demonstrated by his broad portfolio of projects including businesses and institutional organizations throughout the Western United States. In 2020, PDA became part of the Harley Ellis Devereaux Corporation (HED), with Gerry continuing on as a Principal with the firm until his passing.
Gerry's meaningful involvement, and memberships in numerous professional organizations, included;
American Institute of Architects (AIA); Founding Member, Board Certified Architect, American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA); Former Chairman, Providence Holy Cross Medical Center Foundation; Task Force Committee, State Fire Marshal/Office of Statewide Health Planning & Development (OSHPD); Code & Legislative Committee, AIA LA and the Skilled Nursing Advisory Committee (OSHPD), to name a few.
Gerry is survived by; his wife, Janet, son, Karl, son-in-law Jeffrey Cilley, his brothers, Kenneth and Edmund Puchlik, his sister, Christine Lee, together with nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Granada Hills, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Providence Holy Cross Hospital, Mission Hills, CA. https://supportholycross.org/
