Geraldine Forer Spagnolie

November 22, 1924 - May 22, 2017 Geraldine Forer Spagnolie died peacefully on Monday, May 22. Geri, as she was known, was born in Springfield, MA on November 22, 1924. She and her family moved to Los Angeles in 1934 so that her sister, June Foray, could pursue an acting career. Geri graduated from Fairfax High, went on to UCLA and after WWII, married Irving Marems. Geri later married Sam Spagnolie with whom she had a wonderful 44 year marriage, residing in Calabasas. Geri became a prolific writer of humorous, timely poetry which is compiled in several books. Many of her poems have been published in the L.A. Times, The Malibu Times, and the Acorn. Geri is survived by her husband Sam Spagnolie, her daughters Robin Marems Thaler, Lauren Marems (Brian Cole), her beloved grandson Bryan Black, her sister June Foray, and five stepchildren; Diane Goodman, Diane Spanuolo, Lisa Comstock, Sev Spagnolie, Sami Wright, and their children. A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that a donation be made in her honor to a favored charity.
