Gregory Lawlor Obituary

Lawlor, Gregory Patrick
Gregory Patrick Lawlor was born on March 31, 1961 in Los Angeles, CA, passed away September 7, 2004 in Bakersfield, CA. Greg is survived by family members who loved him very much; his mother, Carole; grandmother, Grace Grimmett; brothers, Dan Jr., Tim and Kevin; also by his sister-in-law, Susie; niece and nephew, Emily and Will; numerous uncles and doting aunts; and a cadre of cousins who will sorely miss his companionship, and many friends and co-workers. A graduate of Cleveland High in Reseda, CA, Greg made his home in Bakersfield, CA in 1998 and joined the Golden Empire Concrete Company. Greg brought an uncommon level of honesty, dedication, loyalty, generosity and integrity to a world where such traits are rare. Greg was true and Greg was real. He will be remembered with respect and a great fondness by all those who knew him. Hillcrest Mortuary Funeral Directors

This came up in my memories so I thought I would add to it! Greg was the best friend I could have asked for!!!! Unconditional love since the 5th grade! He loved my family and they loved him. To this day we talk about Uncle Greg! He is truly missed!!! I miss and pray for u daily!! I will love u until I take my last breath. Life is so crazy, I never imagined growing old without him! I know he is looking down on us with that beautiful smile of his, taking care of us from above! U were my rock for years, and I still feel your strength! God blessed me when he made Greg my friend! "My eyes adored you!" We would sing that song, and many others!!! We were best friends til the end! I will never forget u my friend!!!! Love always, Celine

I think I have known Greg close to twenty years now. Lucky for me,we were introduced by Celine and Cathy. What a time we all had! Friday night videos at the Cralley house, playing wild games of uno and sorry at the DiLuigi's kitchen table and all those wonderful parties. Those were the days my friend. All of us are so lucky to have shared so much. Deep lasting friendship, laughter that never stopped, lots of love and knowledge of unwavering inner strenght always there when it was needed. We all have lasted longer than most marriages. My heart knows you are safe and in heaven. No doubt making the angles laugh. I will forever miss your twinkling eyes, quick smile and your remarkable ability to be a friend. My prayers and love are with you and your family. Love Sue

I CAN'T REMEMBER A TIME THAT I DIDN'T KNOW GREG! I THINK IT IS AROUND 33 YEARS, HE WAS ONE OF MY OLDEST AND DEAREST FRIENDS. WE WENT THROUGH A LOT TOGETHER, WHEN I NEEDED A SHOULDER HE WAS THERE AND WHEN HE NEEDED A SHOULDER I WAS THERE. I WILL MISS HIM MORE THEN ANYONE CAN IMAGINE. I LOVED AND RESPECTED HIM. I WILL NEVER FORGET OUR THURSDAY NIGHT KNOTTS LANDINGS AND HOW MUCH FUN WE ALWAYS HAD WHEN WE WERE TOGETHER. I LOVE YOU MAN!!! (MY EYES ADORED YOU). LOVE FOREVER, YOUR FRIEND CELINE

I can remember Greg throughout my childhood years. His smile, laughter and genuine appreciation of others. I remember how he called my mother 'Mrs. C' and spent his afternoons watching General Hospital with the gang at our house. Those truly were the 'Happy Days'. Greg was a wonderfully warm man and it makes me smile to remember his face, always smiling, always friendly....always willing to try my baked goods.

Greg, we will all miss you.

Among the things in life I will always love and remember about you Greg are your walk, your smile, the quiet kindest that you gave so freely to all that surrounded you. In my heart and mind you will always be a pleasant reminder of what a difference a truly kind person can be in lives of those that he knows and loves. Greg you loved are remembered. I knew Greg through my sisters. I will always have fond memories of him in the kitchen at my mom's old house with Cathy & Jean laughing and telling jokes. He was a wonderful, warm, and loving gift to us all. May he look down on us from heaven and smile knowing he made a difference in so many lives.
