Helen Cahn Obituary
Helen Cahn, the proprietor of Minka's in Beverly Hills, died peacefully at the age of 95 in Walnut Creek, CA. Minka's, located on North Beverly Drive, was an internationally renown bath and closet shop. Her clients included prominent Hollywood actors, U.S Presidents and foreign leaders and she was known as "Minka," to her clients. Her store offered high end bath and closet accessories and closet and drawer lining.
Born in Germany in 1913, she was fortunate to escape to the United States in 1938, but lost 49 members of her family in the holocaust. She initially lived in Chicago and relocated in 1957 to Beverly Hills. Her husband Eric, who passed away in 1972, was her business partner. She is survived by her son, Lawrence and his wife Barbara from the San Francisco Bay area, her grand-daughter, Melissa, from Seattle, her brother, Walter, from St. Petersburg, Florida and many nieces and nephews.
