The day I met Hank Cicalo changed the trajectory of my life. He was engineering a session with Richard Tee at Motown Studios, I was assisting, and never `punched´ Record on my own. Intimidated beyond nerves with his successions, I made futile attempts until he said `Don´t look at the numbers, LISTEN!´ After that, it was smooth sailing into a life-long friendship. Bill Withers showed up at the same session. Hank was kind, precise, heard and laid down every nuance a musician ever played as if he were playing it himself. He captured everything to create masterpieces, the Play-back for history and for the people he loved. How lucky to cross his path on 7/27...he lived on magic soundwaves and generously shared them for our hearts.
