January 24, 1935 - June 13, 2014 Herb Yellin, 79 Herbert Yellin, 79, of Porter Ranch, California passed away peacefully on Friday, June 13, 2014 at his home with loved ones by his side. Herb was born on January 24, 1935 in Malden, Massachusetts. He served in the United States Navy as Yeoman First Class. In 1960 he moved to California and lived most of his life in the San Fernando Valley. He was married to Patricia Ann from 1960 until her death in 1994. Herb was a book publisher and founded Lord John Press in 1978. He loved books, movies and sports especially the Celtics and Red Sox. Herb is survived by his two sons, Mark Yellin and his wife, Ethel of Indianapolis, Indiana and Bill Yellin and his wife, Wendy of San Ramon, CA. He is also survived by his brother Robert Yellin and his wife, Linda of Newport Beach, CA; as well as his nieces, nephews and many close friends. There will not be a memorial service.
