Later, his clients included Carroll O'Connor, Marlon Brando, Barbra Streisand, Mary Tyler Moore,Ted Knight, Lou Scheimer and Filmation Studios, and many others. For several years he served on the Board of Directors of North Coast Repertory Theatre in Solano Beach and also served for many years on the board of the San Dieguito Planning Group. Ira loved a good cigar, fine wines and the theater. Ira was truly devoted to his wife of nearly 62 years, Noddy, and is survived by brothers Tuffy (Helen) and Allen (Peggy), sister Gloria, sons Mark (Ruth), Bob (Tory) and James (Sofia); grandchildren, Emma, Alex (Brett Yorke), Sara (Steve Aylsworth), Yanni, Josh and Rachel, and great-grandson, Owen. I just recently learned of Ira's passing, and I must tell you that I am deeply saddened .
Ira and I met in the Air Force at LongBeach when I was a brand new 2nd Lt. We immediatly hit it off and a friendship flourished for many years...
But in the recent decades we did not see each other. I deeply regret that.

Ira was a mensch and he and his beloved Naddy were the most gracious hosts to me and my family.

I know that he loved his loved retreat in La Costa and he spent many happy times there. I think we met there a few years ago.

Ira was a giant in the Industry and it was well deserved . I am grateful that even though I was a very small client, he made me feel important. More importantly we loved and respected one another.

Arrivederci. My dear old friend Ira

Ira was a true scholar and gentleman. We were fortunate to have him and Noddy as neighbors for over 30 years. We always enjoyed our nights out with them for great conversation and good wine.

Ira will be missed. We extend our deepest sympathy to Noddy and the entire family of which he was so proud. Peace be with you.

Mr. Epstein was a generous man and neighbor to my family for years. As I think about Him, Mrs. Epstein, James, Bob and Mark...only the greatest of memories. Thoughts and love to all.
