Jack Karl Rosenbaum

1931 - 2017

December 31, 1931 - February 9, 2017 It is with great sadness we remember and celebrate Jack's life. Born the son of the late Hortense Florsheim Rosenbaum and Karl Milford Rosenbaum in Uniontown, PA, Jack moved to L.A. when he was 3, attended L.A. High School and graduated from UCLA in 1954. During his 82 years in L.A., Jack had a very distinguished list of accomplishments. Jack started his food service career with Sunshine Specialty Foods and grew to prominence with Baxter Healthcare. His true passions were his family and serving others in need. Civic involvement activities included senior roles with Jewish Big Brothers, Vista Del Mar and United Way. The highlight of this work was with Alcoholics Anonymous, achieving 34-years of sobriety and sponsoring countless L.A. young people to successful recovery. Jack was also a founding member of Nicotine Anonymous. He served on the boards of CLARE Foundation for 32 years, including Chairman from 2010 to 2017, L.A. Sober Living Coalition and the Salvation Army Adult Recovery Center. Jack received the City of Los Angeles Spirit of Recovery Award Proclamation in 2014. He was a loving, selfless father and grandfather and was loved by so many and will always be in our Loving Hearts. He will be remembered for living a Life of Helping Others and Touching the Lives of So Many. Jack is survived by his brother Jeff Rogers (Doris McNamara), Corinne (Cookie) Rosenbaum, daughters Debra Rosenbaum and Kathryn McRitchie, son Rick Rosenbaum (Pam Gelman) and grandchildren Laurel Rosenbaum, Margo Rosenbaum and Jack McRitchie, sister-in-law Marjorie Loeb and dog companion GL.
