James Jacks Obituary

December 29, 1947 - January 20, 2014 Jim Jacks, Hollywood film producer and screenplay writer age 66, died at his home from a fatal heart attack. Jim grew up in a military family and graduated as an engineer from Carnegie Tech. His life took a new course in the 70's, which led to his responsibility for over 50 major feature film productions. Jim's illustrious career included executive positions at Universal Studios, independent film production company Alphaville, and, most recently, independent film production company Frelaine. Jim was a loving, family oriented son to his parents, Frederick and Ghislaine. His mother lived with him at his residence in Studio City. He leaves behind his brother and best friend, Richard, his sister, Marion, his two nieces and nephew, Lindsay, Whitney, and Brett, and two dogs Colonel and Annie. Jim was admired and loved by many and will truly live in our hearts forever. Please send donations to the SPCA at spcala.com

i read the news of Jimmy's passing with great sadness. Even though 40 years have passed since we had any contact, I often thought of him with great fondness. We had many good times and laughs back in Annandale and he will always have a special place in my memory. My wife Pat and I nave sent a donation to the Lexington, KY., SPCA in his honor.
Again, please accept my sincere condolences.

I am so sorry for your great loss. May the God who is 'binding up the brokenhearted and comforting those mourning' sustain you during this most difficult time. (Isa. 61:1,2). Again, my deepest sympathies.
