Jeffrey Dinkin Obituary

August 25, 1959 - May 30, 2022 Jeffrey Alan Dinkin passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and loved ones at his home on May 30, 2022. Jeff was born on August 25, 1959 to Bobbi and Perry Dinkin in Milwaukee, WI. From a young age, Jeff aspired to follow in the path of his father, grandfather, and uncle in the field of real estate. To achieve his goal, he graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Washington University in St. Louis, and then moved across the country to pursue a law degree with specialization in real estate from UCLA. Jeff married the love of his life Marci in 1986 and remained in Los Angeles to raise his family. In 1989, he founded Regent Properties, a commercial real estate firm where he served as Managing Director from its inception. In 2019, Jeff received a Lifetime Achievement Award from UCLA Real Estate Law Association.
In addition to his successful career, Jeff was a leader in the community and dedicated his life to the four pillars of honesty, integrity, hard work, and giving back. This led to him becoming actively engaged on multiple boards of community and charitable organizations. He served as Chairman of the Advisory Board to the Simms/Mann - UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology; a member of the Advisory Board of the James A. Graaskamp Center for Real Estate at the Wisconsin School of Business; a member of the Executive Advisory Board of JGSI; a member of the Board of Directors of Camp Kesem; the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Affordable Living for the Aging; and as Board Chairman Emeritus at PS1.
Jeff's greatest legacy is his acts of kindness and generosity he passed down to his children. His life was full of celebrations and making wonderful memories spent with family and friends. He enjoyed raising and mentoring his four children, of whom he was exceedingly proud, and Jeff and Marci were to celebrate 36 loving years of marriage just days after his passing. Despite a 13-year battle with cancer, Jeff always maintained an optimistic attitude. In 2019, Jeff wrote in a letter to himself: "My cancer always reminds me of what is most important in my life."
He is survived by Marci, his children Andie (Ari Bressman), Robin, Leslie, and Aaron, his mother Bobbi, his sister Debbie Feldman (Gene), and his brother Steve (Tara Fuad). In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Simms/Mann - UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology or the Sarcoma Foundation of America.

Just found this...so sorry...Worked very close with Jeff and Mr Kohl as their lead property supervisor when they acquired the Playa Del Rey Properties.
Later on Jeff requested me to oversee their challenging Valencia property...We had many laughs and property success together...I made sure the Properties were well leased, of course the property staff played an important role...Jeff always acknowledged them.
As Jeff would say, I say to you Jeff...I take my hat off to you...G-d bless...you played an important part in my life too...

Dear Marci
I am in shock and disbelief to have just learnt of Jeff's passing. I am devastated . I worked for Jeff (and Doug) from 2001-2003 in the Beverley Hills offices. I was a young 25-year old kid and Jeff took me under his wing. he was kind and eager for me to learn. He became my mentor (The art of the loan agreement is one . We would go to 5am spin classes together, take me out for lunch, and often drive me around in his Lexus convertible. He once invited me over to your house for dinner. He was kind and always had time to share his insights and experiences with a 25-year old kid just finding his way in the world. Jeff took his bussiness very seriously and he loved it. Sadly, the last time i saw Jeff was in 2005 when i returned to LA from Australia for a brief holiday and i stopped in the office in to say hi to him, Jane and the rest of the team.

I am truely shattered. My hear bleeds for you all. I will be in LA in October, and will reach out to the family then.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all xx.
I miss him.
Jeffrey was Mensch!

I met Jeff while working on a project in Plano, TX and his quality as a human being transcended everything he did. He was a Gentleman (capital G) and this was evident in how he treated and interacted with everyone around him, whether on the same side of a negotiation or not. A true loss for all of us who had the privilege to know him. My deepest condolences to his loved ones.

Jeff and I collaborated on some wonderful land projects in the Coachella Valley, both under development now. The quality of these will be a tribute to his positive energy, inspiration and creativity. In addition to a collaborator, I lost a friend. I heartfully wish he could've seen them come to fruition...would've been so excited!

Deepest condolences to family , friends, loved ones and co-workers.

I will miss you Jeff.
