I was a patient of Dr Albus for many years. He was more than my dentist, he was my friend. On Saturdays, he would rollerblade to work. May he rest in peace.

When my husband Andrew and I arrived in California around 1979, I woke up--inevitably-- with a monster toothache one Saturday morning. We had just moved into our apartment in Burbank, and slept on the floor, surrounded by boxes. The job we came west for had just fallen through. We knew not one soul. The pain (infected cavity) tore me out of sleep around 6 AM, and I desperately grabbed the Yellow Pages, under "dentist." ALBYS was the first listing and I called. A sunny Midwestern voice answered. It was Jerry. He said the office was closed (he was doing some bookkeeping), but since I was in pain, he invited me to come right over. This was his older office, not the one beside PATY's diner. I arrived in tears, explaining that I had no money. He listened patiently, then patted my nose with a cotton ball. Then he calmly examined my teeth, saw the problem, explained what could be done and what it would cost, and offered to do it with the understanding that I would pay when I could. AN hour later, my tooth was filled, the pain was gone, and I cried as I walked home to Pass Ave., this time in gratitude. I have never met a kinder soul. I was a loyal patient until he sold to practice. I loved Dr. Albus. We shared a quirky love for the movie "Eraserhead"! RIP, dear friend.

I was a patient of Jerry´s for many years since 1989. Truly the best dentist! He always had a smile on his face and could even make you smile while he was working on filling a cavity. I´m going to miss him so much. His gentle touch. A true genius in the dentistry field. Until we meet again, rest in peace Dr.Albus. I know you have everyone smiling in heaven!
