Joan Rasura Pauloo
1929 - 2017 Joan Rasura Pauloo passed away suddenly on September 15, 2017 at 87 years young. She was born in Hollywood in 1929. She was predeceased by her parents John and Rosalia (Jochimsen) Atkins and her two older sisters Jackie and Jayne. Joan graduated from Dorsey High School in 1947. Joan married Felix Rasura Jr. in 1949 and raised four children in Monterey Park. Every summer she and the kids camped throughout the US and Canada. The favorite local camping spot was Doheny State Beach. She continued her travels until she passed away – taking land and cruises all over the world except 9 countries. On Princess Cruise Lines alone she accumulated over 1650 sea days and 160 cruises, many times awarded "Most Traveled Passenger." Mom is missed by: her son Ken Rasura; grandchildren Kynan, Kieren and Riley; her daughter Karla Dominguez (Oscar); grandchildren Aaron, Bryan, Nicole and Stacy; her daughter Jeri Fox (Jim); grandchildren Clint, Dennis and Tyler; her son Wayne Rasura (Tracy); granddaughter Theresa. She had 7 great-grandchildren: Lala and Bam Rasura; Koen and Finn Rasura; Mackenzie, Kailyn and Connor Fox. Joan will be remembered whenever we see dolphins, lighthouses, Snoopy, Garfield and anything purple. Joan volunteered for 42 years for the Coast Guard Auxiliary DIRAUX Office at the USCG Base Los Angeles/Long Beach and will be honored on May 12 at the Memorial Marker – 2018 Ceremony.
