A funeral Mass is set for 11 a.m. on Jan. 8 at St. Monica Catholic Church in Santa Monica, with a reception to follow immediately after. All are welcome.

Professor Bowman's sketch comedy writing class was always one of my favorites. It was in that class I found a love for comedy that has been pushing me forward since. Though my time with the professor was short, it meant the world to me to learn from one of the greats whose care for his craft shone through everything he did. He was always in good spirits during our time together, which is why I will always remember him with an amused smile on his face. I owe who I am today in part to Professor Bowman, whose memory and legacy I hope to help commemorate. My heart goes out to his loved ones.
