My sincere condolences to all of the Brandlins. Susie and Meg were good friends of mine in high school. My dad sent me Mr. Brandlin's obit. I spent a lot of time at the Bel Air house and remember fondly him singing "Brigid O'Flynn" every time I saw him with that big smile on his face. May your memories bring you comfort and strength.

Dear Judy,
Art and I only have the best memories of Joe and my dad Sy working for those that were in more need than others. This is a passing of an era that we were blessed to be a part of. My Mom, Dorothy and all of the family were the "lucky ones" to know Joe.
God Bless You,
Art and Mary Maki

My husband, Rick, and I had the privilege of meeting Mr. and Mrs. Brandlin when they visited his daughter and our friend, Kathryn Shearer, in Charlotte NC. We were immediately impressed with Joe's vitality, intelligence and graciousness and felt honored to have had the opportunity to meet him and his beautiful wife, Judy. We extend our sympathy to her as well as to Kathryn and the rest of the family during this sad time.

Joe was a gift to all of us who knew and loved him. I will always be grateful to Joe for his excellent advice and service to the clergy and religious of Los Angeles. My condolences to all his family, especially my long-time friend, Tom Brandlin.

May God bless Judy and all of you. Joe was a financial advisor for our Allentown Diocese in PA , but moreso a good friend of ours. His example at our meetings with banking executives there made us very proud to share the same religious beliefs. Meeting Judy at the California Club soon after their marriage was the most memorable visit we made to the West Coast. Now maybe he can represent and intercede for us up in heaven. My memories of Joe go back to the 60's and to the firm Vaughn,Brandin, Robinson and Roemer on West Fifth Los Angeles where I was an associate attorney for several years. It was such a great firm and more than a place to work it was like a family. I was there until I took off for Australia in 1968 but did return to California but now live in Sydney. I still have friends Dick Brown and Valerie his wife from the law firm days.
Joe had a very full life. My condolences to all of his family.
Sincerely Gerald(Jerry) Flavin
