I was so sad to find this out through our high scool website. I grew up as neighbors with john. He helped me build the best treehouse ever (little did I know about his engineering skills). He let me borrow his shoes for track (very big shoes to fill literally). And we worked together at Hardies. My sympathies to all who loved him. He was a great guy and childhood friend who always wore a smile.

John’s passing has left many of us with a monumental gap. I cannot understand what it is like to lose a son, brother, or father. Sorry does not seem like a strong enough word to describe the grief we all feel.
John worked extremely hard. He was always so competitive to which at times we never knew if started a project, or what point he was at, but never had to worry about his crossing the finish line. Over the past 14 years, “Turtle” has helped me countless times, both professionally and personally. It seems impossible to realize I will no longer be able to reach him, to argue or yell at him, or to bounce ideas or solutions with him. He encouraged me and I will miss him dearly.
John will always be in our hearts, our minds and memories through his family, friends and especially his children. He loss will make us appreciate each day he spent in our lives and continue by showing us what each day will bring from his guidance.
May our Lord bless us all in this time of sorrow and grief.

Mary I am so sorry for your loss. I know words can't really help at this time but I hope everything goes well for you. I will be thinking of you and the kids. Good luck.
