ANNA, I WAS SO SORRY TO READ ABOUT YOUR FATHER PASSING AWAY. YOU HAVE HAD SO MANY LOSSES ALREADY. I COULDN'T BE THERE TODAY, BUT YOU ARE IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS. I WOULD LOVE TO TALK TO YOU, WHEN YOU HAVE TIME, AND CATCH UP ON YOUR LIFE AND WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN DOING.

I worked with John on PR for the California Energy Coalition in the early 1980s and found him to be one of the most interesting and intelligent persons I have ever known. John's vision of energy conservation as embodied in the concept of demand-side management was way ahead of its time, as was John's thinking. He left us much too soon.
