Judy Scott Obituary

May 16, 1972 - September 3, 2016 Judy Lewin-Scott passed away in the hospital in the early morning hours of September 3rd after an unexpected heart attack. She passed peacefully and was surrounded by beloved friends and family. A beautiful teeny two pound preemie, she was born in Panorama City, California to parents, Dr. Victor and Linda Lewin; sister, Ann (Lewin) Scanlon; and brother, Bill Lewin. She attended William Taft High school and later vocational school for cosmetology, where she found her true passion and calling in life. She led a colorful teenage life both in action and appearance. Known for her many hair colors and tattoos, she was hard to miss despite her petite stature. Stray cats, dogs, and other animals down on their luck tracked her down wherever she went. They knew safe passage was at hand. She was compassionate towards humans and a lover of all animals, especially rats. She worked for many years in the cosmetic industry and traveled with "The Eagles" as their groomer during the "Long Road Out of Eden Tour 2008." She also worked with Eddie and Wolf Van Halen and spent the last ten years working at CNN's Los Angeles Bureau as a make-up artist where she would find her extended family and develop lasting friendships. She worked on "The Larry King Show," "Piers Morgan Tonight," and "Dr. Drew," and touched countless other guests and personalities throughout her impactful career. She is survived by her husband and soulmate, Eric Scott and their young son, Asher Scott of Woodland Hills, CA; her parents Victor and Linda Lewin of Woodland Hills, CA; brother, William Lewin, his wife Annette and their children Chris and Ben of North Carolina; sister, Ann Scanlon, her husband Paul and their son Finn of Northern California; in-laws Celie and Sonny Scott of Poplarville, MS and their daughter Julie and her wife Susan Betteridge of Chicago, IL. She leaves countless friends behind. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation towards their GoFundMe account set up in their son, Asher's name to help prepare for his bright future.https://www.gofundme.com/asherscott

I met Judy 10 years ago and she was part of almost every day of my last decade at CNN. Whether ushering guests into her chair, or sitting in it myself, I saw first hand the magical touch and influence she had on everyone she met. The messages I've received asking about Judy from guests, colleagues, celebrities and friends has been overwhelming and is a true testament to the reach she had. Knowing how wide her circle extended, I send my deepest sympathies to her inner circle. Please call on us all as you move forward without your dear Judy. She was one of a kind.

Judy leaves behind a profound void here with our CNN-LA family ... her light was luminous, authentic and constant, and while we may think her essence has been extinguished, it lives on in those of us blessed to have been brightened by her kind and generous spirit. She lives on through Eric and Asher and we carry them on our hearts during this difficult time...
