Judy STEARN Obituary

STEARN, Judy Ann Sept. 22, 1950 - Feb. 4, 2010 Surrounded by the family that loved and cherished her, took her last breath, succumbing to cancer after a courageous two year battle. She leaves behind her loving husband, Michael, her precious daughter Mindy, her brothers, Murray (Leslie) Deckelbaum and David (Emily) Deckelbaum, along with nephews and great nieces and nephews. She also leaves a tremendously loving and caring community of friends who were there with her every step of the way, with help, kind words and loving actions. Judy loved people and loved music and both helped her through the rough times. Judy's voice will be heard and her spirit will be felt in the lives of those she touched throughout her life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her two favorite organizations; Temple Beth Shir Sholom, 1827 California Ave, Santa Monica, CA 90403, and The Seeing Eye, 10 Washington Valley Rd., Morristown, NJ 07963. Services to be held at Mt Sinai-Simi Valley, Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, 10:00 a.m. Mount Sinai Memorial Parks and Mortuaries, Simi Valley, 800-600-0076

I will miss you so much Judy. I loved you and learned a lot from you. You were so inspiring and I admired everything about you. I'm so sad that you're no longer with us but I feel better knowing that you're not feeling anymore pain and that you're in a better place. My deepest sympathies go to Judy's family and to Michael and Mindy. You're in all my prayers and thoughts and I am so sad to have learned about this yesterday. I wish I could have spent more time with you but I'm glad that I knew you since the time I met Mindy in 4th grade. You were an amazing mother and wife and friend and I'm lucky to have met a woman with such a beautiful soul. My family sends all my love.

Dear Mike and Mindy, While I didn't get to know the two of you that well, Judy was always available to talk about anything, especially guide dog handling. I know you and Mindy meant everything to her--having a family was her fondest dream, and I am glad she was able to realize that, as many of us never experience our fondest dream. Goodbye, Dear Judy; you are in God's hands now--no pain; no disability but perfection.
