LaVonne Garner Obituary

GARNER, LaVonne Peckham
LaVonne was born in Alhambra April 29, 1923, and passed away peacefully on May 16, 2005 at her home in Newport Beach. She inherited her enthusiasm and wonderful sense of humor from her mother, Charlotte, and her athletic ability and passion for sports from her father, Everett. She enjoyed traveling with Jim, her loving husband of 62 years, and especially cherished the trips they took with the USC travel group. LaVonne's family and friends were her greatest source of joy. She was totally devoted to her family, and befriended people from all walks of life. Due to her outgoing nature, she is well-known throughout Newport Beach. In addition to Jim Garner, "Mimi" is survived by her son Jon Garner (Ginny), daughters Brynn Enevoldsen (Kjeld, Tia), Shelley Belling (Phil) and Trish Jacobs (Larry), grandchildren Michael and Amy Garner, Blair and Charlotte Belling, and Lindsay and Greer Jacobs; along with cousins Barbara Frandsen and Clark McQuay, and brother-in-law Charles Morse. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 26 at the church she attended over 50 years, St. James Anglican Church in Newport Beach. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in LaVonne's memory to Hoag Cancer Center, 1 Hoag Drive, P.O. Box 6100, Newport Beach, CA 92658-6100. Pacific View Mortuary (949) 644-2700
