Lea Loewinger Obituary

October 5, 1943 - December 5, 2025 It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lea Loewinger, who passed away on December 5th at the age of 82. Lea was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her.
Lea was born in Timi?oara, Romania, on October 5th, 1943. Following the Holocaust, Lea and her parents, Eliezer and Magda Breuer, relocated to Israel in 1948 to start a new life. Lea was raised in Kibbutz Mizra and ultimately joined the Israeli Army. After her military service, Lea and her mother settled in Haifa. In 1968, Lea met the love of her life, Alex Loewinger, at a party on a Friday night. He proposed two days later, on Sunday. Three weeks later, Lea relocated to Los Angeles and married Alex on December 15th, 1968.
Lea lived the American dream. She and her husband established a successful business and started a family. Lea lived her life to the fullest. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, throwing fabulous parties, seeing plays and musicals, watching films and television, dining out, and shopping. Lea spoke three languages and was well-versed in global affairs. Lea was also involved in Sinai Temple events and activities, and she was proud of her Jewish heritage. Moreover, Lea was well-known in her community and will always be remembered for her generosity, kindness, and thoughtfulness. Lea generously donated her time to multiple organizations, including the Scott Elliott Sraberg Charitable Foundation, the UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital, Sinai Temple Sisterhood, and various animal shelters.
Lea is survived by her two daughters, Karen Loewinger Sraberg and Sherry Loewinger, her son-in-law, Brad Sraberg, and two grandsons, Adam and Jason Sraberg. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Alex Loewinger, and grandson Scott Sraberg. The funeral will be held for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Scott Elliott Sraberg Charitable Foundation.
