Lisa Fortenberry Obituary

Lisa Shannon Fortenberry (age 72) passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025 in Burbank, CA. She was born on October 27, 1953, to Barbara and Marshall Fortenberry in Jackson, MS.
Lisa embraced joy and adventure, despite bumps in the road during her nearly 40-year battle with cancer. She devoted her energy to living fully and graciously, inspiring all of us with her determination and unfailing sense of fun. She became a world traveler, visiting Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. A true music lover, Lisa attended many Bruce Springsteen concerts, near and far. Her other favorite performers included Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, Queen and the Eagles, whom she recently made a road trip to see at The Sphere in Las Vegas. Lisa and friends made several trips to Hawaii during their years as fans of the new Hawaii Five-0 to watch filming of the show, becoming well known to the cast and crew over the years. Lisa camped out at The Grove to be first in line at Bruce Springsteen's book signing and made the local news for her efforts.
A credit to her southern roots, Lisa was a wonderful storyteller, enthralling friends with tales of her youth in Jackson, as well as her more recent adventures. Lisa enjoyed a big, beautiful life, lived with integrity, faith, and gratitude.
Survivors include Lisa's brother John and his wife Nelle, niece Tess and nephew Chance, sister Tina, and many beloved and devoted friends.
As Lisa wished, there will be no service and burial will be private. She requested that memorials be directed to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
