Louis Federici Obituary
Died April 2 at 92. He lived a good life. Louie was a long time motion picture exhibitor who owned/operated cinemas in the L.A. area for sixty years and before that in Northern California where he was born. He was associated with Lippert Theatres and then on his own operating, among others, the Encore and Four Star Theatres. Louie was a true friend to a potpouri of countless people brought together by their affection for him and who formed his family. Irving St. will be a lonlier place now. Graveside Services at Forest Lawn Glendale on Thurs., at 10 AM.

I met Louie at the Four Star theater while working on the 1983 Filmex Film festival. I needed to access electricity to set up the display for the front foyer, which he allowed as long as I could put everything back how it was. I did and this led to him asking me if I could fix a few things around the theater. Long story short, I fixed a myriad of things at different venues he operated. In return, I had free access to any screenings and carte blanche at the concession stand. This was nice as I was just getting my feet wet in the film industry. I must have watched Blade Runner over 30 times and had countless hotdogs, sodas, and popcorn the summer. We stayed friends for many years and I regret that I did not keep in contact in his latter years. Rest in Peace old friend.
