Marcia Marsey Obituary
October 27, 1937 - August 1, 2022 Marcia Marie Marsey, devoted wife and loving mother, passed away peacefully at her home in Huntington Beach on August 2, 2022 with her husband and son at her bedside. Marcia was born in 1937 in Washington, DC to parents Warren and Adeline Lawton. She lived to be 84 years old. Marcia was married to her husband, Don, for 29 years. They met while working for the aerospace industry. They dated for 2 years before they discovered that they were the love of their lives for each other. She grew up in the District of Columbia and was the first female to have graduated as an electrical engineer from the University of Pennsylvania. Before then, only males had graduated from this division. After earning this degree, she worked for the US Government technical laboratories in the Washington area for several years. In 1990, she moved to California and worked in the aerospace industry i.e. Hughes aircraft company, Raytheon, General dynamics, and General Motors for a period of 17 more years. She is survived by her son (Eric Tarleton), and her grandchildren, Nancy and Charles. In addition to her engineering skill, she will be remembered for her love of life and in-depth knowledge of life's natural gifts, including all birds, plants, and animals. She was an extremely well organized lady with a heart of gold. We have lost one of the most kindhearted, beautiful people the world will ever know. Marcia had an unmatched intelligence and enjoyed reading literature of all types, including news magazines, science fiction and the latest storybook novels. Marcia was a warm, loving and generous person who helped out people all of the time. She was an avid reader with an outstanding ability to retain the content that she read for a long time. Easy to talk to, and extremely informative on almost any subject. Always found the good in people and had an insatiable curiosity for life always trying to learn about new things. This, coupled with an unmatchable ability to retain her knowledge made her well versed not only in the technical field but on all types of natures' many gifts of beauty such as art, birds, plants, and animals. One of her favorite sayings: when anybody would ask her what she wanted, she would say "diamonds, and emeralds". This was particularly evident when ordering at restaurants and the waitress would ask what she wanted, she would say "diamonds, and Emeralds".
Her funeral services will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022 at 1:00 in Fairhaven Memorial Park, 1702 Fairhaven Ave, Santa Ana, CA 92705 · (714) 633-1442.
There was only one Marcia. She was very much loved and will be missed.
