Mario Sherman Memoriam

January 1934 - September 2020 Mario M. Sherman. Beloved father, grandfather, and friend passed away with his family at his side on Monday, September 21, after a long series of illnesses. He was 86. Born in Bucharest, Romania, and a survivor of the Holocaust, Mario moved to the United States over 58 years ago and made his home in Los Angeles. A real estate investor, developer, and property manager for over 40 years, Mario began his career in retail tire sales and Recap tire manufacturing in downtown Los Angeles and segued into real estate, his true passion. Mario was a proud 32nd degree Mason and a longtime supporter of the Jewish Federation and City of Hope. He was also a member of Etz Jacob Congregation and Temple Israel of Hollywood for over 40 years. Mario will always be remembered for his loving devotion to his family and generosity towards family and friends. He was a colorful raconteur and relentless businessman with a legendary work ethic who lived on five continents during his eventful life. Mario was a voracious reader, loved to travel, and was a fan of professional wrestling and soccer. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa, son, Sidney, daughter-in-law, Kathy, and granddaughter, Sophie. In lieu of flowers, a donation in the name of Mario M. Sherman may be made to The Jewish Federation or City of Hope. Private family services were held Thursday, September 24.
