Mark Lewis Feldman

May 23, 1946 - November 12, 2015 Mark Lewis Feldman, son of Leonard and Naomi Feldman, passed away peacefully at his home in Santa Monica, California with his family by his side. He was born on May 23, 1946 in Los Angeles, California. As a teenager in the San Fernando Valley, Mark became an accomplished golfer and played on the varsity golf team at Cal State Northridge and on the Army golf team in Fort Dix, New Jersey. Mark met his wife Marcie while he was in college and shortly after joined his father in the family garment business in downtown Los Angeles. With his father's guidance and Mark's tenacity, the two were successful and grew their business, L & L Manufacturing Company. Starting with a handful of employees, over the next four decades Mark directed the company's expansion, becoming a leading apparel supplier to Walmart and JCPenney and the largest exporter of apparel from Mexico to the United States. He was an inspiring and compassionate manager to thousands of garment workers and had the trust and respect of his devoted employees. He and Marcie discovered the beauty of Jackson Hole, Wyoming on a family trip in the 1990's and eventually became permanent Wyoming residents. He loved his ranch in Wilson, Wyoming, where he would spend the afternoons clearing brush, maintaining the waterways, and planting trees. A devoted steward of his land, Mark became a passionate conservationist, joining the board of Conservation International in 1995. Together with his friends in the organization, Mark traveled to all corners of the Earth, meeting with world leaders and advocating on behalf of the people and animals that live in regions of biodiversity. He was a pure soul whose actions personified his values and the most generous man we have ever known. We will miss his infectious smile and biting sense of humor; when he shined his light on you, you felt like the most special person in the world. Mark is survived by his beloved wife Marcie, loving daughters Kate and Lindsay (Brian), adoring granddaughter Marlowe, dearest sister Janis (Roger) and best friend Bruce Stern (Judith), who he thought of as a brother.
