Marlene Bierman Obituary
Marlene Francis Bierman of Beverly Hills, CA passed away on January 22nd 2022 at Ronald Regan UCLA Medical Center in Westwood, CA. Marlene was triple vaxxed but her death was due to long-term immune issues compromised by the COVID-19 virus. She is survived by her children Wendy (Paul Harte), Robert (Sandra Codner Bierman) and Jeffrey (Monica Martinez Bierman), and by her grandchildren Lila, Spencer, and Daphne.
Marlene was born on November 26th 1935 in Los Angeles, CA to William Ceazan and Rose Kahn Ceazan. She graduated from Fairfax High School in 1953 and attended California State University Los Angeles where she earned an A.A. degree. She met her future husband when she answered the phone at a friend's house. She chatted with Stanley who cancelled on the girlfriend and went out with Marlene instead. It was love at first sight, and Marlene remained married and devoted to Stanley for over 64 years, working and raising a family together. Her untimely death occurred less than 24 hours after his.
Marlene was a remarkable cook when it came to traditional Jewish dishes. She had an uncanny memory to recall the names and minute details of famous Hollywood celebrities, films, or songs of a bygone era with point-blank accuracy. She was a sports enthusiast who could easily hold a lengthy conversation about baseball (lifelong Dodgers and Vince Scully fan), football, and golf with even the most rabid sport fanatic. Her mind was a steel trap when it came to facts and figures regardless of age. Marlene could expertly balance a checkbook and her knowledge of dealing with medical insurers was second to none.
Marlene's greatest gift was her innate goodness. She never failed to greet family or complete strangers with a warm smile. Her sweet and gregarious disposition was genuine, unpretentious, and without ulterior motive. Marlene was the epitome of friendliness and positive energy and will be deeply missed by those who met her, even once. She was greatly loved by her sister-in-law Nadine Steinberg, along with her kids, their spouses, grandkids, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, long-time friends, neighbors, helpers, and Reggie the dog.
