Marseilla Ann Barth obituary

Marseilla Barth Memoriam

March 15, 1936 - November 7, 2024 Marseilla Ann Barth (Kuehl) peacefully passed November 7, 2024, at her home in Corona del Mar, California. Born in Oklahoma City in 1936, Marseilla migrated to Los Angeles with her family at an early age. She with her brother, Karl Otto Kuehl, were raised in Huntington Park. Marseilla graduated from Huntington Park High School in 1953. Marseilla met the love of her life, David Barth, in Avalon on Catalina Island in the mid-nineteen fifties and married in 1956. Together they had three sons: Steven, Randy and Donald. Marseilla and Dave moved their family to Downey in 1962 where Marseilla worked at the Broadway Department Store in the business office for thirty years.
After the children were raised, Marseilla and Dave sailed the California Coast, Caribbean, and Greek Islands and traveled extensively world-wide. Marseilla loved to cook and bake, was an avid reader who loved a good historical novel, and her early love of dancing kept her young and nimble throughout her adult life. She also had a sharp eye for detail in design and fashion and was a competent seamstress in her own right. She took great pride in her close relationship with each of her seven grandchildren, insisting that she have a current version of a smartphone so that she could text message and view their photos frequently.
Marseilla is survived by her husband, David, her sons, Steven, Randy and Donald, their wives, Amy, Mary and Anita, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two nieces, and three nephews. Marseilla was taken from us a year ago and is deeply missed.
