Martin Cassidy Obituary
Stage and film actor Martin "Joe" Patrick Cassidy passed away at age 75 in Los Angeles following a prolonged illness.
Native to Manhattan's Yorkville neighborhood, Martin began his acting and singing career as an off-Broadway leading man in numerous plays, including playing James Joyce in "James Joyce's Dubliners." He toured with "That Championship Season" and "The Great White Hope." Following his leading role in the miniseries "The Dain Curse," Martin moved to Los Angeles. Among his many television roles were appearances on "Falcon Crest," "Matlock," and HBO's "1st & Ten." His diverse career included feature films such as "Halloween III."
Martin is survived by his devoted wife, Alice Cassidy, a stage & TV casting director.

Great to see a different variety of historical info in NYTimes, LATimes & Variety obits. What a fun, handsome gentleman with eyes that twinkle, a chuckle almost ready to explode into laughter and an unforgetable voice in speech and song. Martin's presence will be felt by many due to the gifts of wit, wisdom & talent he leaves behind. We love you, Alice, and send you many hugs.

I will remember his sharp wit, his incredible sense of irony, his humor and compassion, and warmth. He was a much better actor then most, and a beautiful soul. How often he declared his love and admiration for his wife, Alice, and gratitude for her presence in his life. God rest you Martin
