Dr. Marvin Issac Porton

1928 - 2017

June 24, 1928 - August 24, 2017 With great sadness we announce the passing of Dr. Marvin J. Porton on August 24th, 2017. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He lived life on his own terms and had no regrets. His bright light and strong spirit will be sorely missed. Marvin is survived by his wife, Dr. Sally Porton, daughters Jo Ann (Chris), Patrice (Gregg), and Eliana (Elian), grandson Yeshe Perl and great-granddaughter Orly Perl. Dr. Porton heartily enjoyed golf, travel, music, theater and spending time with a great number of friends and relatives. Born in Fresno, California, on July 24, 1928, he became an Optometrist and practiced for sixty four years before retiring in 2015. He will be remembered as an inspiration for his acts of kindness, generosity and loyalty. His passing leaves a legacy of love and caring to all who knew him. Burial services to be held at Mount Sinai, August 28th at 10 AM. Memorial Services to be held at Leo Baeck Temple August 28th at 11:30 AM.
