Mary Badel Obituary
February 26, 1922 - October 29, 2009
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey in 1922, she received her R.N. at Jersey City Medical Center and went on to practice her nursing until she wed the love of her life, Jose P. Badel, M.D., a marriage of 61 wonderful years. She possessed a deep reverence for the Catholic Church and the Rosary. She was a devoted mother, always sure to attend to the needs of her family. Ever the gracious hostess, she opened her home for parties, celebrations, and riotous family dinners.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, and leaves behind her seven children, Patricia, Terry, Elizabeth, Alicia, Anna Lucia, Mary Margaret, and Jose Paulino, Jr., eighteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews. She touched the lives of all around her with her quick Irish wit, her warm smile, and her genuine loving grace. She will be missed by all.
Viewing will be held at Cabot and Sons Mortuary in Pasadena from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 2. Funeral Mass will be held at St. John of God Retirement Center in Los Angeles on Tuesday, November 3 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to St. John of God.

A most wonderful woman has left us to take her rightful place in heaven with her husband, parents, sister and the rest of her family. She will be missed by many, and remembered as a kind and gentle soul
