Melvin Karp Obituary

May 3, 1926 - January 17, 2017 Melvin Karp died peacefully January 17, 2017, surrounded by loving family. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Beverly, stepson Keith Corwin and grandson Sean Corwin. Born in 1926 to parents of 10 children he was admired and respected by his siblings, colleagues and family for his wit, intellect and encyclopedic memory of family events. He was instrumental in the project management leading to the early Apollo space flights during his career with North American Aviation and devoted time to coaching young tennis players in his local area. Mel had a deep sense of Jewish culture and of history, particularly about New York City, Brooklyn and the Hudson Valley, where he enjoyed many vacations with his loving wife. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, sibling, uncle and friend, he will be deeply missed by all.
