On this memorial remembrance of Michael Earl, I want to ensure Michael's sister Nisa and his family that I--as Michael's collaborator on a musical theatre production in 1994 at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island--have not given up on seeing Michael's and my musical project resurrected for a professional staging. It will be a fitting tribute to Michael's myriad artistic talents that he be recognized for his musical compositions that breathed life into my book and lyrics. I am still fighting the good fight, Michael.

I enjoyed working with Michael at Canyon Creek Church in San Ramon in the early 90's. He was a talented and wonderful person. Sending prayers and love to his friends and family.

"Treasure each other in the recognition that we do not know how long we shall have each other." The wisdom contained in those words, attributed to Joshua Loth Liebman, are an eloquent testament to my recognition of the treasure that the life of Michael Earl, for too short a time, brought to me. Michael's artistic vocation, through his teaching, his puppetry, and his talent as a musician and song writer, surpassed only by his loyalty as a friend and collaborator, are treasures of inestimable value I recognized from the first and shall cherish forever. I met Michael through All Saints' Episcopal-Anglican church in 1993, and I take comfort in knowing that his life and legacy will be memorialized and remembered by that same family of faith that led to our meeting. May the angels of protection, mercy, and grace whom I found at All Satins' sing thee to thy Heavenly rest, Michael. And in Jesus' name, may light perpetual shine upon you. For we who mourn Michael, I find consolation Psalm 31, verse 24: "Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord." Michael, when my time comes to cross the bar, I shall see you again.
