June 4, 1941 - February 24, 2016 Michael Wayne Oreb, age 74, passed away at home in Downey, CA on February 24, 2016. He was born on June 4, 1941 in Sacramento, CA, served in the U.S. Navy and has been a resident of Downey for nearly 50 years. He retired in 2000, from SeaLand Services. Michael is survived by his wife of 30 years Linda; children Suzie, Michael, Nancy and David; step-daughter Janelle, Grandsons Damien, Justin, Brandon, Cody, Garrett, David and Terry; Grand-daughters Samantha and Jennie; 4 Great Grandchildren; Brother Eugene Oreb (Cheryl); Sisters Barbara Hardmeyer (Richard), Judy Ceccarelli (Robert), Donna Doss, Sandy Uhl (Tom), and Virginia Fair (Carl); Brother-in-Law Leonard Russell; Sister-in-Law Leila Henriksen, and numerous Nieces and Nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his Parents Michael and Matilda Oreb and Brother Donald Oreb. Michael had been a member of the Southwestern Predator Callers Association, current member of Downey Bocce Club, Knights of Columbus Council 3697, K of C Anglers Club. Rosary will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 7:00 pm and Funeral Mass Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 10:30 am at St. Raymond Catholic Church in Downey.
