Michael D. Pilla Jr.

1963 - 2021

September 27, 1963 - October 16, 2021 Michael D. Pilla Jr., 58, was born and raised in Philadelphia. He attended Nazareth Academy Grade School and Holy Ghost Prep. In 1986 he graduated with a B.A. from La Salle University where he was a member of Sigma Phi Lambda. After earning a J.D. at the University of Bridgeport, he moved to LA in 1990 fulfilling his dream to emigrate to the left coast. He lived there for the last three decades except for two years when he earned an MBA at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. Michael loved being a lawyer and was an active participant in LA's growing tech community which fed his passion for the intersection of technology and entertainment. Most recently, Michael worked as an attorney at Tik Tok.Along with a passion for sports (Eagles, Raiders, Sixers, Yankees), media, music and always staying current on the news of the day, Michael possessed an insatiable appetite for knowledge and, to some, was the most informed person they ever met.Pre-deceased by his mother Peggy Pilla, Michael is survived by his loving wife Melissa Libre, his son Michael Pilla III, his father Michael D. Pilla Sr., his sister Joanne (Craig) Burdulis, his brother Tom (Ketty) Pilla, nephews CJ and Will Burdulis and Samuel Pilla and his faithful four-legged companion Tito Bandido. A viewing will be held at the Hollywood Forever Funeral Home at 6000 Santa Monica Blvd on Tuesday, October 26th from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. And a memorial mass will take place at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 30 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Beverly Hills. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Best Friends Animal Society.
