Nathan Leanse Obituary

December 24, 1933 - September 11, 2014 Nathan Joseph Leanse, beloved husband, father and grandfather. Born in Los Angeles. Died peacefully, surrounded by family. Pre-deceased by parents Phil and Bess Leanse, and sister Sally Fischmann. Survived by Eleanor, his devoted wife of 58 years, and adoring children Elizabeth, Lloyd (Ann) and Daniel (Jill), grandchildren Alex, Jeff, Matt, step-grandchildren Casey, Veronica, Eric and Mike. Also survived by brother Arnold Leanse and brother-in-law Harvey Fischmann. Nathan attended Dorsey High School where he was Student Body President and All-City Fullback. He earned a Bachelor of Economics at Stanford University in 1956, Phi Beta Kappa. While at Stanford, he was president of Phi Kappa Psi and first in his Air Force ROTC class. In 1975, he earned a J.D. at Stanford Law School. Nate was a leader in the consumer products industry as President of Dep Corporation and in real estate development as President of Leed Properties. He was a kind and distinguished gentleman admired by his many friends and associates. May his memory be a blessing to those who knew and loved him and may his example of honesty and generosity inspire us all. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Planned Parenthood of Los Angeles.

Dear Eleonor, Elizabeth, Daniel and Lloyd - I heard the sad news of Nathan's passing and send you my deepest condolences. I have fond memories of the times we spent together in Los Angeles and San Francisco and will always remember Nathan's warm and gentle character.
