Patricia Thielen Obituary

Thielen, Patricia Marie
Born March 17, 1914. Passed away February 25, 2003 in Los Alamitos, CA. Our beloved Pat grew up in happy days waterside in Long Beach at "The Pike" and "The Plunge" where the boarding house built by her family survived the 1933 earthquake that destroyed even her schoolhouse. Strong like that building, but still a loving and balanced parent, Pat studied at L.B. Poly High and L.B.C.C. before marrying (for 59 years) the love of her life, Frank, a Los Angeles Times employee for over 30 years. They raised loving sons, vacationed in the Sierras with Pat's occasional map reading leading them to unexpected and lovely places. Son Frank rose to J.C. Penney management, and Bob is a dentist. In 1978 Pat and Frank left their Inglewood home of 39 years and moved to Leisure World Seal Beach where Frank passed in 1997 and the boys, in tribute, arranged and managed loving home care until her homegoing without a day in a care home. Pat's devotion to family and lifetime of love and positive guidance deserved nothing less. Companion, Buick dealership secretary, term paper typist and mother, Pat was wonderful. She will rest next to Frank following services, both Sat., Mar. 1, 2003, 8:30 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cypress, 4471 Lincoln. Inglewood Mortuary (800)300-8137 directing. Survived by loving sons Frank (Marcia) of Houston and Dr. Bob Thielen of Scottsdale; grandchildren, Michael and Deborah, and many loving friends and relatives.
