Patsy Myers Obituary

Patsy Nanna Myers J.D. died of a stroke October 12. She was the wife of publicist Julian Myers and sister of A.R. and Sam Nanna and Javada Brown, born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, August 17, 1930. She lived in Marina del Rey and is missed by countless friends and relatives who love her and admire her compassion, generosity and vision. She devoted her legal career to providing all sorts of help to the defenseless. For the past three years she has been working on a study of the increasing loss of human consideration during U.S. Supreme Court procedures, resulting in the U.S. having the largest percentage of imprisonment of any "civilized" nation. Julian says, "I equate her devotion to our nation's future with that of Abraham Lincoln. Somehow she also found the godliness to be the world's finest mate." They were married for 43 years. Private burial. On October 27 there will be a daylong "Celebration together of our Patsy."

I was saddened to hear of Patsy 's passing. As a friend and fellow criminal defense attorney, I marveled at her commitment to her clients welfare , both legal and personal- I enjoyed her phone calls regarding interesting and complex legal issues she would have or like me to work on with her ... If a woman could be called a mensch, it would be her-- Cary
