Pilar Cerveris

Cerveris, Pilar An actress who had a memorable role in John Frankenheimer's "Young Savages" and who made several notable appearances on some of the most popular television series of the 1960's, died of lung cancer in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 3rd. She was 62. Cerveris, who acted under the name Pilar Seurat, guest-starred on "Star Trek", "Bonanza" and "Hawaii Five-O" among many others. Born in Manila, Cerveris immigrated to Los Angeles in 1945. She began her career as a dancer and was one of the featured dancers in "Ken Murray's Blackouts". She was married from 1959-1963 to film producer Don Devlin, with whom she had her only child, writer and producer Dean Devlin. In 1970, she married Don Cerveris. They divorced in 1981 but remained close until her death. Of his mother Devlin said, "She was the spiritual compass of our family who inspired me to follow my dreams. Words cannot express how much I love her and how much I will miss her." In addition to her son Dean, Cerveris is survived by her sister Angela Hernandez, an artist, half-sister Alana Lambros, a TV producer, two nieces and a nephew.
