Angros, Dr. Richard Harrington (69)
Of Palm Desert, formerly a resident of Fullerton, a retired physician, died April 7, 2003 of cancer. He was born on July 28, 1933 in Leechburg, Pennsylvania. Richard received his Bachelor of Arts and Medical degrees at Temple University. His internship was completed at Los Angeles County Hospital, then served as a captain in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. He then completed his residency, specializing in Hematology and Oncology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He was board certified in General Medicine, Oncology and Hematology. He practiced at Fullerton Internal Medical Clinic for 27 years and served on the staff of St. Jude Medical Center. He was instrumental in establishing the oncology unit at St. Jude, and launching the hospice program within Orange County. Survivors: wife, Sham, of Palm Desert; son, Dr. Richard Harrington Angros, Jr. of Redondo Beach; son, James William of Indio; a daughter, Shannon Angros Paradzick of Yorba Linda; mother, Mary Angros of Fullerton; granddaughter, Alexandra Lily and grandson, Maxwell Richard. Services: A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 15, at one o'clock p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Fullerton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Virginia M. Crossen Cancer Center at St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, California.
