Robert Amick Obituary

AMICK, Robert Lee "Bob" Bob Amick, age 77, peacefully passed away Friday, March 6, 2009 at his home in Pearblossom. He was born May 12, 1931 in Kansas, the son of John and Cecile Amick. He moved to California with his family at a young age, and graduated from North Hollywood High School. After serving his country in Korea, Bob settled in the Antelope Valley where he resided for over 55 years. He was employed by Asphalt Construction Company for 40 years. His hobbies included vintage car restoration and sailing on Lake Arrowhead. He was a long standing member of both the Lions Club and The Elks Lodge. He leaves behind his devoted and loving companion, Barbara Findley; daughters Catherine Amick, Saundra Durboraw (Geoffrey), and their two children, Rachel and Clayton; son, Robert Amick Jr. (Arlene), and their twin sons, Ian and Collin; his brother, John Amick (Marjolee), as well as several in-laws and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and four siblings, Kenneth, Richard, Jeanine, and Lauranell. He will be missed by all who knew him, including his life long friend and mother of his children, Sylvia Amick. A celebration of Bob's life will be held on Wednesday, March 18th, between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. at his residence. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorials be made in honor of Bob Amick to; American Lung Association 424 Pendleton Way, Oakland, CA 92612
