Bob married my first cousin Patti and they had one son Jeff they called nipper
There were 7 surviving children in my father´s family and several moved to the area around Pomona in the 1950´s including Pat and her parents Ethel(my father´s sister) and Lou
Some of us would gather for visits and holiday celebrations at Pat and Bobs home in Claremont and they were wonderful hosts...Bob was laid back and put up with the carrying on of his in laws with a great sense of humor

We met on a cruise on the Mexican Riviera, and kept in touch for many years, until their passing. I worked with the nukes in the US Air Force from 1955 to 1959, that Bob was involved with, so we had some background that connected us. Bob and Pat always invited me to join them during meals and port stops, because I have traveled solo, because my wife hates travel, and our contact lasted for many years after that event. I read 3 books Bob has written, so I'm sure, he wouldn't have minded my mentioning his name, because most were autobiographical.

I met Robert and Patti on the Mexican Coast cruise, and they invite me to join them for meals and outings at the different ports during the cruise, because I was traveling solo. After the cruise, we kept in touch, and I read several of his books. The books being biographical provided me with a better perspective of Bob's accomplishments and other interests. I have always enjoyed world travel, because of the many interesting people I have met and made friends with. My meeting Bob and Patti enriched my life, and thanks to his generous nature, I had great travel companions to share that voyage with.

I met Bob on a cruise along the Mexican Coast some decades ago, but we have exchanged emails afterwards for several years. I read Bob's three books, and plan to finish all seven.
My condolences to Patti.
