Robert Good Obituary

Good, Robert Glen M.D. of Hamilton passed away on (Friday) July 13, 2001 at his residence. Robert was born on January 23, 1935 in Long Beach, California to Elsie and Robert Van Glendon Good. Robert graduated from Polytechnic High School in Long Beach, attended UCLA as an undergraduate and graduated from UCLA School of Medicine in 1960, Summa Cum Laude. He was awarded the first annual Surgical Medal from UCLA, a prestigious medal honoring highest excellence to surgical skills. In 1957, he married Elaine Marinoff of Westwood, California, and they had three children. Following his first year of residency at UCLA /Harbor General Hospital in Obstetrics and Gynecology, he served two years in the Air Force as a Captain. After his discharge, they returned to Los Angeles where he completed his residency. In 1968, he began private practice in Beverly Hills, California (along with Dr. Jesse Garber) and became a prominent physician specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecological Surgery. Later, he was in private practice in West Los Angeles and in Santa Monica. Dr. Good was on the staff at UCLA, Cedars Sinai Hospital, Century City Hospital, Santa Monica Hospital, and St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica. In 1993 he married Kathy Meeks, and retired from his medical practice. Following their love of fishing and the outdoors, they divided their time between Cabo San Lucas, BC and the Bitterroot Valley in Montana. Robert is survived by his wife Kathy; daughter, Cynthia Good Reiman of Atlanta; sons, Glendon Good of Sedona, Bradley Good of Los Angeles; grandchildren, Alden and Julien Reiman, Lance and Max Good. A service to celebrate his life will be held Thursday (July 19th) at 2:00 PM at the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton, Montana. Private family urn placement will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Memorials may be made to the Sherman M. Mellinkoff, M.D. Medical Alumni Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 24209, Los Angeles, CA 90024-0909.
